It might seem like prom was quite a long time ago for the parents of teenagers, but many people remember it like it was yesterday. They remember when they had to work just to get to pick out one of many discount prom dresses and somehow find a way to pay for dinner. It always seemed to work out for the better and prom was always a remarkable night despite all the alcohol in the punch.
But for your teenager, it might have a different meaning. Affordable prom dresses might not be enough for girls these days trying to keep up with the fashions of high school. It’s a much tougher and more complicated world out there for your son or daughter these days and parents need to step up a little more during these stressful times. Whether your high school student is a freshman or a senior, the pressures of prom or any other social gathering seems to be squeezing tighter and tighter every year. Perhaps prom dresses under $100 are a wake up call to your daughter. She might learn that she needs to stop worrying about appearances and start off college without all the drama she encountered in high school.
